Snowed In!

Hello from Newark Airport (New Jersey)!! Due to a big snowstorm last night, our flight was delayed 24 hours and we will be leaving the US tonight. Last night after we got our new flight assignments, we decided it would just be easiest to stay in the airport since all the hotels were full. Slept on chairs in the terminal for maybe 4 hours. It was quite a night. There are quite a few birds-probably pigeons-in the airport and they were flying near where we were sleeping. But luckily they didn't land on us just scared us a bit! About half of the students in the program were stuck in the US because of this storm. I am with 4 other students from Iowa State and we are trying to make the most of it. Unfortunately on our previous flight they made us check our carry-on luggage due to no room in the overhead compartments so we won't get it back til we get to Madrid...which leaves us without a lot of things we would have liked to have had but we are making it through. I think we got around 15 inches of snow total. Can't wait to be in Caceres where there is no snow!! The weather looks like it will be fine for our flight tonight so hopefully next time I write I will be in Spain!!!
